Welcome to Historic Cascade Heights

Welcome to Historic Cascade Heights, the heart of an energetic business district that’s walkable and alive with history. As Atlanta’s community in a park, we offer over 600 acres of rolling green spaces as well as proximity to downtown and transit. Set within one of Atlanta’s most expansive tree canopies, we have space for recreation, public golf courses and a nature preserve boasting Atlanta’s only waterfall. Here you’ll find powerful reflections of Atlanta’s past, from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement, and our period architecture presents a timeless sense of place. We’re an inclusive community composed of residents with deep-running roots and newcomers alike because in Cascade Heights, all are welcome and everyone is wanted.

Ongoing Projects

We’re re-designing our public space to facilitate movement and everyday living particularly between our residential neighborhoods, historic commercial district, and treasured parks.

Beecher Road Design

Since the adoption of the 2006 Campbellton-Cascade Corridors Redevelopment Plan, we have pushed for sidewalks and traffic calming. The Atlanta City Studio has worked with the community since 2016 to transform the plan’s recommendation into a concept design to assist in moving the project towards implementation.

Housing Cascade Heights

As Cascade Heights, like many other neighborhoods in Atlanta, faces a need for multi-generational and affordable housing, unlocking new housing options is an important first step. Housing Cascade Heights outlines a framework for future development in the residential area surrounding the Dolphin Court Apartments immediately north of the commercial district.

Cascade Springs Nature Preserve

Our goal in the design for Cascade Springs Nature Preserve is to improve its presence and connection to our community. This work started with the Walk in the Park series, Elevate SWATS performances, and other similar activities geared toward inviting our residents to experience and gain a better awareness for what this unique park has to offer.
